Easy Perfect Brows!

Hey Everybody!
I've been getting a lot of requests from friends  to do a step-by-step tutorial on how I do my Eyebrows! For all you beauty junkies out there, you should know that eyebrows are one of the vital necessities to perfect your make up look!

I'm no eyebrow expert, so I would normally suggest to get your eyebrows done professionally. They would best know the perfect eyebrow shape to accentuate your facial features. And let me add, when you have well-groomed eyebrows, it's like 100% easier to make them stand out.

I still remember having eyebrow mishaps back when I was a teenager, and the thought of it just makes me cringe! Yikes! So today, I'm very happy to share my tips and tricks on how I do my eyebrows! Just Remember, all it takes is a little patience and of course, practice, practice, practice!

What I used:
  • Ever Bilena's Ever Original Brow Pencil
  • E.L.F's Eyebrow Treat and Tame
  • in2it's Eyebrow Powder
  • Marionnaud's N38 angled brush
  • Water

First thing I do is to wet my brush with water to set the bristles in place.

  1. Starting in the middle of my brow, I drew a slight diagonal line up to the tip.

2.Taking a little bit of my brow powder, I move all the way down to the end of my brows. I did the same process to the upper part of  my eyebrows.

3. Using a little bit of the powder left on my brush, I gradually outline the front portion of my brows. After this process, I fill them in.

TIP 1:
When filling in, I start at the end part of my brows and going lighter as I fill in  towards the front part.  Doing so gives it a more "natural" look.

I then grab my spoolie and brush through my brows!

4.  After filling in, I take my eyebrow pencil and outline my brows again, to make it look more angled and perfect-looking! I take my handy-dandy spoolie to blend in the harsh edges.

On the pic below, I used my brow pencil as a visual guide; making a diagonal line from the outer corner of my eye to know where my eyebrows should end.

   5. To finish off the look, I take E.L.F's eyebrow treat and tame to set everything in place. And we're done!

TIP 2:
Always remember to work with what you have.  It doesn't mean that if I'm using all of these products, that you should too. Use the products you're comfortable with, cause after all it's just make up!

And like I said, if you don't get it the first time just keep practicing, you'll have perfect-looking eyebrows in no time.  Let  me know how yours worked out? I would love to hear from all of you reading this!

All the love,

Kate

Clean Brushes 101

Make Up brush Hoarder

Hey Everybody!

Welcome to my first blog post ever. I'm so excited to tell you all that today I will be sharing to you easy tips on how I clean up my Make Up brushes!

To be honest, I never knew how important it is to always clean your brushes at least once a week, 'till I started having break outs on my face. Ack. You don't want to have that! Prevention is key, ladies and gentlemen!

So today fear not! For I will be sharing to you how I clean these fluffy little things. I've posted pictures below to help you through the process (Not that it's really hard, it's very easy actually ). Let's get started!

What You need:

  • Liquid Hand Soap (Baby Shampoo is fine as well, but I like to really clean up my brushes with anti-bacterial soap)
  • Olive Oil (To soften your brush bristles)
  • Paper towels
  • Tiny Bowl (just for mixing the hand soap with olive oil)
  • Water
  • Dirty brushes!
First, I mixed 2/3 of liquid hand soap with 1/3 of olive oil. You don't want too much Olive oil, as it makes the bristles sticky and oily, you need a little just to soften it up!

With the dirty brush in one hand, I take the mixture in my brush and slowly rub it in my palm, doing circular motions until you see dirt coming off.  I then rinse my brush with running water.

TIP 1:
When washing my brushes I'm very careful NOT to get the metal part of the brush wet. The tendency of getting it wet will destroy your brushes, as the water loosens up the glue that holds the bristles in.

After rinsing the brushes, In upside down position, I lean them up against the wall placing a paper towel underneath. I wait for a few hours 'till they get dry !

TIP 2:
You can also dry them out  by placing them in a jar, UPSIDE DOWN.
If you have brush guards, please use them. It keeps the bristles in place!

TIP 3

For all you busy beauty junkies out there, who are constantly in a hurry! Baby wipes or Make Up wipes are also one of the quickest ways to get your brushes cleaned! All you have to do is, to do a little tap and brush on the wet wipe until the dirt comes off. Easy Breezy!

So there you have it guys, quick and easy steps to clean up your make up brushes! How did your clean up go? Let me know!

Xoxo,

Kate

Hooooray for clean make up brushes!
